Creativity is truly within us all. Yet, there is something special to being surrounded by the ocean on an island so close to home (for many of us), that gives us just enough mental freedom to explore that side of our brains. NOMADNESS is partnering with one of Bermuda’s well known socialistas and guides, Kristin White, for a trip that dives into the creatives of the island, as well as it’s relevant role in the African Diaspora.
*Itinerary is below. May be subject to change, of which you will be notified.
Trip Intensity: 2/5
Day One:
Arrivals
Our welcome dinner in Bermuda will begin with a bonfire to set the tone. Dinner will include a fish fry and other options for our vegetarians and meat lovers. Under the sun, we will get to know one another, and our creative intentions will be set for the trip.
Day Two:
With our host leading the way, we will embark on an afternoon African Diaspora Heritage Tour
Lunch at East End Mini Yacht Club
Sunset Photo Workshop + Dinner at Tobacco Bay
Day Three:
Our itinerary lands us on the island during the Bermuda Day Parade. Our group will be attending the parade in conjunction with a painting mural experience with the Chewstick Foundation.
The Chewstick Foundation is a non-profit cultural arts movement that celebrates storytellers of every medium. [I was on their board for several years.] After an intense period of fundraising, Chewstick was able to renovate a new space, right in the heart of the city, only to lose everything in a fire in 2016. Now, instead of having a physical space, they run retreat camping programs, open mics, workshops, and are instrumental in introducing public art that celebrates Bermuda heritage. By partnering with them for the mural project, Nomadness is helping support this important local organization.
Day Four:
FREE DAY
Optional Add ON: Art and Shopping Tour of the City - Details can be provided if interested
Day Five:
After breakfast, our local host Kristin will be taking us on a boat cruise that includes local Bermudian art workshops on board, and lunch
Farewell Dinner
